Lionel's term 'Standard O' means full scale (defined by request)

 

  • Lionel describes their full scale rolling stock as 'Standard O'
  • Standard O Scale 40' boxcars have die cast metal bases, and will operate on 0-27 as well as any larger diameter track
  • All Standard O equipment is longer, wider, higher and more expensive than traditional size rolling stock
  • Models of 60 and 70 foot cars might not work on O-27 - that depends on individual details
  • All have metal trucks with springs, operating couplers and extensive detailing applied by hand, such as running boards, special markers, etc
