GREAT NORTHERN EXPRESS BOXCAR Due Date July

 

During the 1940's and 1950's, box express (BX) cars provided coast to coast speedy delivery for all sorts of packages and mail t hat had to get to a destination fast. A variety of standard boxcars of t he period were used for this package delivery system. Typically coupled immediately behind the locomotives of fast passenger trains, these special boxcars were often uniquely decorated for their express delivery duties.
