LIONEL SOUTHERN PACIFIC 2-8-0

Through the first decade of the 20th century, the 2-8-0 consolidation was the standard wheel arrangment for most mainline freight steam locos. Soon after, the consolidation was relegated to switching and branchline use, where they enjoyed a long career, with some lasting well into the final days of steam in the late 1950's. Lionel has brought you this scale model based on one of the first designs developed by the Associated Railroads in 1902. Features on this beautiful locomotive include full command control, with railsounds, towercom, and crew talk chit-chat. This loco was catalogued in 2000, and recatalogued in the new 2001 catalog. If you missed it last year, be sure not to miss it now...This one's a winner.
