SANTA FE EL CAPITAN PASSENGER CARS

 

  • The El Capitan was Santa Fe's super deluxe all coach companion to the all pullman Chief and Super Chief, running on the same high speed schedule from Chicago to LA
  • One of the first trains ever with the new silver Budd Streamlined pasenger cars, the El Capitan was created in real life for the first time just before World War II with Santa Fe Warbonnet Diesels, and these cars along with the new Santa Fe ABA just announced will replicate the updated El Capitan of 1948
  • The cars are brand new 18 inch models being produced for the 1st time
  • All new die cast metal sprung trucks and operating couplers with hidden uncoupling tab
  • New opening end vestibules with flexible diaphragms
  • New 18" extruded aluminum bodies with flush fitting windows, painted interiors with passenger figures, lighted interior with on/off switch
  • Operating marker lights, end lights and lighted drumhead on observation car.
