UNION PACIFIC 4-12-2 !!! ***LIONEL'S NEWEST***

 

BREAKING NEWS -- The Next Featured Big Lionel Engine is the UP 12 wheel which was the largest locomotive built with a rigid frame wheel base. It was powerful and rode well at speed. They had three steam cylinders. UP built 88 engines from 1926 to 1930 and they weighed about 500,000 lbs. One is currently displayed at LA County Fairgrounds in Pomona, CA. Lionel is recreating this big engine with all the best features including Railsounds, Command Control, and the Odyssey speed control system. The 4-12-2 will have detailed Gresley valve gear in front of the third cylinder and an operational, reciprocating third drive rod in the locomotive frame. Quantities are limited.
