INFO ON LIONEL'S 4-4-4-4 T1 (SOLD OUT)

The Pennsylvania T1 has been called the last great development of steam power - the final specimens of steam designed and built to run 100 miles per hour. The real locomotive was built in 1945. Our first picture is from the 1945 Pennsylvania Calendar, and was painted by Alexander Leydenfrost. This rendering of the lines and proportions of engine 6110 (the first T1 built by Baldwing Locomotive works) is almost photographic. Picture 2 is a photograph of PRR 5508 built by the Pennsylvania itself in Altoona, Pa. Note the differences in the front end compared to the Baldwin built loco. The Lionel model is based on the Altoona design, as shown in Picture 3 which is a photo of the Lionel production prototype. Add the full scale 4 car Pennsylvania Passenger Cars for an authentic passenger train as hauled by the T1. Cars are item # 6-39008 (also shown on Pg 73 of the year 2000 Lionel Catalog). Although we are sold out, we thought you would enjoy the pictures and info)
