IVORY & RED DOUBLE WINDOW STATION WITH TRAIN- STOPPER (1936-42)

  • An all metal station with ivory walls built on a red base. Red was also the color of the roof, skylight, window inserts and doors.
  • Dimensions are 20 inches long, 8 inches deep and 8 high.
  • This is an extremely handsome and commanding building and should not be confused with the smaller but equally handsome single window station with 11 inch building.
  • White metal clock and gold-painted outside light fixtures holding tulip-shaped bulbs upright - were installed flanking the doors on the front of the station.
  • It also has the train-stop circuit with adjustable length of time the train remains stopped at the station.
  • Originally produced in green and cream in 1935 and 1936, the red and ivory version was the color used from 1937 thru 1942.
  • Both colors are rated a rarity of 4 and are really hard to find - strangely enough the red and ivory version is much harder to locate than the cream and green model.
  • As pictured in our generic photo, some cream and red units have screens in the arched windows above the doors and above the side windows which were never painted red. These are considered to be a rather unusual variation compared to red screens, adding to the collectability if not the value as well.
