FLYING YANKEE STREAMLINER SET WITH WHISTLE

Produced by Lionel from 1935-40. The Flying Yankee was modeled after the famous streamliner from the Boston and Maine Railroad. Early sets came with chrome noses, with the top painted black or red. Also in 1935 only the coaches had two doors on each side and all the later versions had one door. This set included: 616W Loco., two 617 Coaches and a 618 Observation Car. The cars were mostly fluted, some early rare promotional sets had smooth sided cars. Also included eight curved and four straight O gauge tracks and "How to Operate" booklet.
