291E RED COMET SET 264E COMMODORE VANDERBILT WITH THREE CARS

Here's an extremely rare Red Comet set with a 264E Commmodore Vanderbilt loco and 265W tender

Lionel used the number 291W for two different sets - a 226E loco with 2954, 2955, and 2957 semi scale cars, and this Red Comet with a whistle. We have listed this set as a 291E which is the correct number for the Red Comet set WITHOUT the whistle

This is the 1936 version of the Red Comet with two 603 Pullman cars, and one 604 observation car

The entire set was light red with white (cream) trim on the cars with red underbellies (correct for the 1936 set)
