STANDARD GAUGE # 33 ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE (1913)

The Type V model #33 standard gauge locomotive appeared in 1913. Prior 33's had three wheels on either side - the type V was redesigned with two and no pilot wheels. It continued in various formats and colors with minor design changes. Types VI to X came into existance through 1924 when production ceased. All type V thur X are 10 and 3/8" long with rounded hoods. Type V had the motor mounted on a u-shaped frame. From about 1917, type VI had 6 rectangles punched into the frame on one end and 4 on the other end and was painted black. Approximately one year later type VII appeared with 4 rectangles punched in each side of the frame with a hand reverse added, and was painted black. Designated type VIII, some locomotives with 4 rectangles punched in each side of the frame were painted dark olive green and had a hand reverse. Type IX appeared around 1923 with a changed frame (without rectangles) to accommodate the larger Super Motor, and were painted in one of three colors (dark green, grey, and dark olive green). Type X's were locos returned to the factory for repair and repainted in many different colors (all information per Doyle's reference guides).
