  • This set carries a rarity rating of 5 (the rarest)
  • The #10 loco in this set is a mystery. It has an orange stripe along the bottom of the cab, a dark green frame, (same color as a green 390E) and a Bild-A-Loco motor
  • The quote from Greenberg's Guide to Lionel Trains , 1901 - 1942, volume 1V,by Dave McEntarfer), "It is possible that any set containing a 10E loco with dark green frame and Bild-A-Loco motor was intended as a special"
  • Lionel frequently manufactured specials for Macy's and Sears in the 1930 period, but this loco is not in any documented store set
  • Contents: 10E Electric loco with the regular 'Lionel Super Motor', 332 baggage, 339 Pullman and 341 Observation; 8 curved, 4 straight track
  • Produced in 1929 and 1930, this set was normally a peacock green color, and cars were labeled 'Lionel Lines'
  • Some cars are found labeled New York Central in the headboard over the window
  • Sets were also produced in Grey and Mojave and a few Mojave cars have been found labeled NYC but are not well documented
