Lionel pre-378w

1935-39 ST. GIRARD SET: 392E LOCOMOTIVE; 392W TENDER; 424 PULLMAN CAR; 425 PULLMAN CAR; 426 OBSERVATION CAR

The 1935 set was the first to have a whistle and the first to come with the larger twelve-wheel tender. The 1935 catalog also renamed this set the "Broadway Limited", even though the observation car still came with the keystone marked "Pennsylvania Limited". It didn't matter. Collectors still call this the "Stephen Girard set" after the Pullman car and the special color of green associated with it.
