This flashy set is so powerful and beautiful that it will make you forget every other model train you ever saw. It is the true replica of the famous "Blue Comet" the speedy Jersey Central express that runs to Atlantic City. The entire train is enameled in blue with two-tone effect. Cars are low, long and accurately proportioned. 91 1/2 inches long. (quoted from the 1933 Lionel Catalog) This set is a real show stopper and conversation piece of any gauge train collection. Built 1930 to 1938 with many variations of trim colors (nickle,brass, bronze) and shades of blue paint. Roofs are removable and the cars have an interior. It is one of the most famous and well known train sets ever produced by Lionel.
