Lionel pre-416

NEW YORK PULLMAN STATE CAR 1929-35

Lionel prewar standard gauge 416 New York Observation State car with light green body, dark green roof and apple green window inserts. The inside of the roof has the original Lionel paper tag. This 21 and half inch long car, along with its companions the 412 California, 413 Colorado, 414 Illinois observation, compromise what is known as the State set. These were Lionel's largest, most elaborate and most expensive Standard Gauge Passenger cars. They were available from 1929 through 1935, and always had interior lighting and six-wheel trucks. The roofs of these cars were hinged to reveal a complete interior, including interior walls, seats, toilets and sinks.
