Lionel pre-440c

440C PANEL BOARD

Sold from 1932 until World War 2 halted toy train production, this accessory was made of stamped steel construction. Four knife switches were mounted on a simulated marble control panel, as were two special switches which controlled the indication of the signals mounted on a 440 Signal Bridge. These two levers were mounted with a plate reading "Track" as well as "Stop" and "Go". Provision was made for the installation of two switch controllers as well. Two decorative simulated meters were attached to the panel too, which was illuminated by a hooded lamp at the top.
