Lionel pre-655

LIONEL LINES 655 O GAUGE BOX CAR

 

Built by Lionel between 1933 and 1942 as part of Lionel's mid-priced O gauge 650-series cars. Sheet metal construction, painted cream and maroon roof (1933 to 1938) or tuscan roof (1939 to 1942). Measures 6 and 1/2 inches in length. Had latch couplers until 1940 and changed to box couplers from 1941/1942. Journals are copper, nickel or black. Early hardware is brass and late is nickel.
