PENNSYLVANIA DOUBLE DOOR BOXCAR (ALL METAL) WITH LOW COUPLERS FOR 0-27 (SMALLER) TINPLATE CARS

 

Built 3/41. Automobile car, brown painted stamped steel body with die-cast ends and white heat-stamped lettering. heat stamped new 3-41, brake wheel, frame may have steps on all 4 corners, bottom base includes air reservoir, valves, and brake cylinder, prewar box couplers but also re-issued after World War 2 with post war couplers with unchanged built date of 3 /41
  • Please note we have found this (prewar) car with 2 different numbers, X2458 and x2758. X2458 was equipped with low couplers matching the shorter 0-27 tinpklate cars; x2758 denotes cars with high (pushrod) couplers matching the 80/2800 series (longer) O-gauge tinplate cars. Both have the same built date (3/41)
