| This set included: A 2025 steam locomotive with operating headlight and smoke, 2466WX early coal whistle tender, 3559 automatic dump car, 2465 Sunoco double-dome tank car, 3454 merchandise car and a 2472 non-illuminated Pennsylvania N5 caboose. Also came with eight 1013 curved and five 1018 straight track pieces, 1019 uncoupling/operating section, type S transformer, CTC lock-on, tube of Lionel lubricant and 926-5 instruction booklet. The 1946 outfit 1409WM was powered by a 1666 2-6-2 and was updated for 1947 by the inclusion of a smoking 2-6-2 locomotive, specifically the 2025. The 2025 included in the 1439WS lacked the simulated front couplers and it's stacks could be either black or unpainted aluminum. The 3559M - originally a Pre-War design that was revivied in 1946, returned again in 1947. It's wiring was now black and, at least in this outfit, the mechanism housing was black Bakelite. The catalog indicated that the caboose for this outfit would be the illuminated 2457, but the 2472 was included instead. |
