154 GRAY YEARS AUTOMATIC HIGHWAY SIGNAL - RARE! 1942

A rare and underappreciated early Post-War item. Only a few examples of the 154 were ever produced with gray paint. During "the gray years", silver paint was reserved for WWII war production only. Therefore, Lionel gray paint was used on numerous items from late 1941 until production ended in 1942. Painted black diecast base, diecast crossing buck and hoods, stamped metal pole, and finial painted a semi gloss gray. Built in 1942.
