613 UNION PACIFIC NW-2 SWITCHER 0-27 FREIGHT SET

The U.P. 613 was new in 1958 and has become a scarce switcher engine. The engine was painted yellow over grey plastic. Red, heat-stamped graphics are on the cab sides (one side has "Serves All The West", other side reads "Road of The Streamliners"). The engine hood has raised panels on either side with "Union Pacific" stamped in red. White "UP" and "613" are stamped on the front nose of the engine separated by the headlight housing. Ornamental bell and horn are affixed to the roof. Rolling stock came with plastic AAR trucks, except the work caboose was equipped with bar-end metal trucks. The 6660 (Boom Crane Car) and 6818 (flat car) were new for 1958. All cars came in Bold Classic style boxes. The 6660 car had an insert in the box for extra protection. Engine came in the same style box with protective inserts. The outfit box was the standard 0-27 basket weave type corrugate with blue lettering and the set number stamped on the side panels.
