SANTE FE ALCO PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN SPECIAL SET

 

While most Santa Fe Alco-led passenger sets meet with little enthusiasms from collectors, this oufit is an exception to that rule. The key to this set is contained in small orange box_the 1940-100 presidential special accessory set. This outfit included: 218/218T Santa Fe Alco AA units with horn, 3428 operating US Mail boxcar, two 2412 Vista Domes and 2416 observation car, 1640-100 Presidential whistle-stop kit, 1013 curved and three 1018 streight track, 6029 uncoupling section, 1053 60 watt transformer, CTC lockon, tube of lubricant, and instruction. Note that thre outfit was boxed in an orange and white display type set box.
