LIONEL 2148WS 773-50 SET WITH THREE CARS - 2625, 2627, AND 2628

This was an expensive set in its day - at a cost of $85. A re-issue of the Pre-War Hudson, it came in a corrugated carton with wraparound liner and a very desireable 2426W Lionel Lines tender. The tender was cataloged with New York Central markings, but did not come as part of regular production. To avoid confusion with the 1964 reissue, the engine box was made by the Star Company and lettered in black. 1950 was the last year the Madison cars were cataloged, and the only year that they were manufactured with silhouettes. When purchasing a set, make sure the boxes are correct, Middle Classic style with the city names "New York" and "Chicago" and NOT "San Francisco". The cars were slightly oversized, and would often have box rub. Set contained the 773 Hudson steam locomotive with headlight, smoke, and Magnetraction, 2426W Lionel Lines whistle tender, 2625 Irvington, 2627 Madison, and 2628 Manhattan Pullman cars with silhouettes, eight curved track sections, seven straight track sections, and a UCS uncoupling/operating track section.
