NYC F-3 ABA O-GAUGE DUAL MOTOR FREIGHT SET (1953)

Set is one of only two sets containing an ABA F3. Components include : #2354P/#2344C/#2354T NYC F-3 ABA combo; and rolling stock that was new for 1953 including a #3484 PRR operating boxcar; a #6415 Sunoco 3 dome tanker; and the 6417 PRR porthole caboose. Also included were 8 curved O-Gauge track; 7 straight O-Gauge track; 1 UCS uncoupling/operating track section; and instructional paperwork
  • Set did not come with a transformer
  • This set has all the same components as Set #2207W except the 2354 NYC ABA combo was substituted for the Santa Fe units
  • Compared to the earlier 2344 NYC F3, the F-3 #2354 series F3 had improved diesel horn performance since the workings were moved into the dummy unit and these diesels are highly prized by the operator/collector
  • The set OUTFIT BOX was the new Circle-L-Type, and side panels carried the price, set description and the Magnetraction insignia
  • The powered A unit, #2354P was packed in its own corrugate w/ protective liner and Lionel wrappings. The AB non-powered units were packed the same
  • All rolling stock were packed in Middle Classic cartons
  • It is interesting to note that the massive ABA combo dwarfed the 3 car rolling stock consist. Also, can you believe that Lionel included a Pennsylvania porthole caboose as part of the set? The instruction booklet included: hHow to Operate Lionel Trains and accessories (dated 1953), Lionel Twin Diesel Locomotives(form No.2353-53-6-53-TT), and the billboard set No.310 (dated 1953).
