Lionel pw-2434,35

2434, 2435 NEWARK AND ELIZABETH TWO CAR PULLMAN SET - RED LETTER VERSION

Illuminated interiors. Built from 1954 until 1958. Lionel introduced the 2400 series molded plastic streamlined passenger cars in 1948, based on a Pullman - standard design. The series ran basically unchanged except for color schemes until 1966. All pre-1959 production was designated "LIONEL LINES" and, except for the 2436 "MOOSEHEART", all cars were named for New Jersey towns near the Lionel factory in Irvington, NJ. The "ELIZABETH" is the rarest in the series - it was included as a set component in only two of ten outfits cataloged with this group of cars.
