2329 VIRGINIAN RECTIFIER FREIGHT SET (1958)

 

The 2329 Virginian rectifier was a new, and not well-received, design for the 1958 product year, hence it's rarity. This engine was mostly sold in sets(2505W & 2513W in 58, and 2529W in 59), and saw very little movement for Lionel in seperate sale department. This set is one of the harder Postwar era sets to find (Rated 5, which is the rarest). Includes; 2329 Virginian rectifier; 6805 atomic energy disposal Car; 6519 Allis Chalmers car; 6800 flatcar with Airplane; 6464-500 Timken boxcar (Type 2B, and sometimes included rare gray body mold), 6357 Illuminated SP-type Lionel caboose; Super O track, 12 curved, 3 straight, 1 insulated, and 39-5 operating packet. The outfit set box was the Standard Super O brown basket weave issue. Engine came in a newly designed oversized box with two inserts (almost always missing). Rolling stock wasa mix of Late and Bold Classic boxes. Paperwork Included; How to Operate booklet, Service Station Booklet and directions (2329, 6805, and Super O track for sets.
