2528WS SUPER O GAUGE FIVE STAR GENERAL SET WITH 1872 STEAM LOCOMOTIVE

This set was available for sale from 1959 until 1961. The contents include a 1872 "The General" Western and Atlantic steam locomotive with matching 1872T tender. This engine features Magnetraction, headlight, operating smoke unit, 1877 flat car with horses, 1875W illuminated passenger car with whistle, 1876 illuminated mail/baggage car, twelve curved sections and one straight section of Super O insulated track, and a 39-25 operating packet. This was the deluxe version of the General set - as you can see from the features listed above (whistle and smoke). It came with several different types of cartons, both display and conventional brown box, with the brown box being the hardest to find. The 1875W passenger car with whistle inside is rare.
