253 BLOCK CONTROL SIGNAL

Built from 1956 until 1959. This is simply the block signal version of the train control mechanism from Lionel's 115 and 132 passenger stations with automatic train control. It is the only Post-War signal to have a train control function built in, as opposed to depending on a 153C contactor. The 253 includes insulated pins for 0 and 027 track to create an insulated block. 1956 to 1957 versions have a black painted base. Includes envelope with insulating pins for 0 and 027, two CTC lock-ons, three wires, and a 253 instruction sheet.
