2628 MANHATTAN PASSENGER CAR -

 

Built between 1947 and 1950. The Madison cars were the cream of the early postwar passenger crop. With the 2625 Irvington car being the first and only one released in 1946, the Madison and Manhattan cars joined it in 1947 with all cars using the same number - 2625. From 1948 to 1950 each car had its own number. Featured a tuscan painted bakelite body, white heat-stamped lettering, lighted and six wheel trucks.
