The Bascule Bridge is a remarkable accessory. Designed to shut down track power to both sides of the bridge once the bridge starts to open and repowers the track when the bridge closes. Painted die cast base. Painted stamped steel superstructure - house and floor frame. Houses produced with and without doors. Built 1940-42 and 1946-49. This bridge can be used on an even floor level without need of grade approaches, or it can be used actually to span a gulf or chasm in the model railroad terrain.
