4457 PENNSYLVANIA CABOOSE

Produced in 1946-47, this steel-bodied caboose was painted semi-gloss red with white rubber-stamped lettering and blue-and-white Electronic Control decals. It was numbered "477618" on its sides, with the number "4457" rubber stamped on the bottom of the frame. As a component of the Electronic Control set, an electronic control receiver was installed in the body. The body featured separately installed red window frames with celluloid glazing, steps, end rails and ladders and a simulated battery box. In most cases, the front and rear windows of the cupola were stamped open. A diecast smokejack was mounted on the roof and painted to match the body. A plastic simulated air brake reservoir was mounted under the frame. The caboose had interior illumination, staple-end trucks and coil couplers.
