455 SUNOCO OIL DERRICK

Built from 1950 until 1954. The drilling rig tower is usually a dark glossy green. This tower color occurs with both red and matching green tops. The "Sunoco" sign is often missing or replaced by a reproduction (the real sign has "OIL DERRICK No. 455" on the bottom). The oil drums are often missing and/or replaced by reproductions - these you cannot really distinguish from the originals. The diesel motor was borrowed from the 3520 searchlight car and is easily replaced if damaged. The bubble tube is unique to this item and is still available. This is a great layout accessory with the walking beam going up and down and the bubble tube bubbling away. They especially look great with more than just one operating in your oil field!
