LIONEL 6050-110 SWIFT PREMIUM BOX CAR

This 1962 to 1963 Scout-type box car had an unpainted red body with white, heat-stamped lettering. A Swift's Premium emblem was heat- stamped to the right of the door. AAR type trucks were used with the first year's production having two operating couplers - this was reduced to one operating and one non-operating coupler in 1963. The Lionel Service Manual refers to this car as "6050-110". This car was made using molds with various rivet configurations and in different shades of red. None of these variations are more valuable than the other. Some cars were made with two holes in the roofwalk - a leftover from using this tooling to produce the 3357 hydraulic platform maintenance car and not properly converting it back to standard box car production.
