Lionel pw-6464-475 type 2b
BOSTON & MAINE BOXCAR TYPE (1957-58)
|This is the earliest example of Lionel's Boston & Maine Box Car. It came in both painted and unpainted body versions - with no significance as far as the value is concerned. All of the lettering and B&M logos are heat stamped. The frame and brake wheel are metal. The Type 2B refers to the pattern of the rivets on the sides. Lionel made several minor changes to the body mold of its boxcars over the years. The variations center mostly around the rivet patterns on the sides. The Type 2B also has a faint notch in the roof, which was punched out for the 6352 Ice car.
