Lionel pw-6464-475 type 3

6464-475 BOSTON & MAINE BOXCAR WITH TYPE 3 BODY MOLD

The Boston and Maine 6464 was available for many years, but the version with the type 3 body mold was sold in 1956 and 1957 only. Lionel used various body molds for its 6464-series box cars. The biggest discerning factor to tell them apart is the rivet pattern on the sides of the car. On the type 3, the second rivet column to the left of the door has only three rivets at the top and two at the bottom. This car is painted blue with heat-stamped markings. This version came equipped with AAR trucks and operating couplers on both ends.
