NEW HAVEN BLACK BOXCAR TYPE 4 1969 HAGERSTOWN

 

Built 1969, Hagerstown, Maryland. Part of a 5 car reissue series of 6464 boxcars, and the last produced in the Postwar era. The New Haven was first cataloged in 1962 in orange. This version had a black painted body, and has become the rarest of the five(extremely scarce). It was pictured and identified in the consumer catalog as a 6464-425, but came out with the 725 number. The 1969 models were unique in there brilliant colors and letters. Boxed examples of these Hagerstown additions have become extremely desirable.
