EIRE BAY WINDOW CABOOSE RARE (1966)

 

Produced for one year only, 1966. One of the toughest and most desirable Postwar era caboose's to find. This was also the second offering of a bay window caboose, and identical mechanically to the eailer 6517 from 1955-59. The big difference from the eailer version was the rubber-stamped "6517-75" on the underside metal frame, and the rubber-stamped lettering on the red painted body ("ERIE" diamond logo and numbered "C301"). Came in a tough mid-sixties window display box with roof insert, and rubber-stamped number on end flap. The plastic molded body was painted red and it had white rubber-stamped lettering. Also featured, O27 gauge passenger trucks, illuminated interior, stamped sheet-metal ladders, and plastic platform ends.
