LIONEL 6560 BUCYRUS ERIE CRANE WITH FOUR WHEEL TRUCKS

The Lionel Bucyrus Erie crane is one the the greatest toys ever! Children can lift and tow their autos and other objects by turning the knobs to raise and lower both the hook and the boom. In addition, the cab rotates a full 360 degrees so objects can be moved from one side of the track to another. It is used constantly whether or not the trains are set up. As a stand alone toy, it's great to handle Matchbox and other cars and toys. Superb Lionel quality gives them the durability to last forever. Has an unpainted plastic cab and base. Cab can be gray or red plastic. Cranks raise and lower the boom as well as the hook. Variations include solid cranks, spoked cranks, and AAR or bar-end trucks with and without rubber-stamped numbers. Built from 1955 to 1964 and again from 1966 to 1969. 1969's "Hagerstown" version came with a dark blue base, and chemically treated closed cranks and hook that gave them a bronzed look - also had AAR trucks with two couplers. The 1969 Hagerstown box had printed end flaps with #6560-25 (most 1969 boxes have rubber- stamped detail on the ends). 1969 also had a printed instruction sheet.
