LIONEL CABLE CAR BUILT 1953-56
|Same die-cast depressed center frame built for 2461 transformer car with a slight modification toadapt it for holding two Lionel cable reels. Gray-painted frame (shades vary slightly) with rubberstamped "6561 LIONEL LINES 6561" in black serif letters on the side rails. Bar-end trucks with operating couplers attach to truck-mounting plates as with 2461. Load is two molded plastic reels wound with a single layer of .072"-diameter aluminum wire. Cars grey reels are the more sought after version compared to cars with orange reels.
