LIONEL 6807 MARINE CORPS DUCK FLAT CAR

 

Unpainted plastic body with heat-stamped lettering. Metal brake wheel. AAR trucks with two operating couplers. Boat is unpainted with heat- stamped lettering. Original boats are lettered "MADE IN U.S.A." on the underside inside a circular branding with raised letters. Inside the "Made in USA" is a pennant shape with letters "PYRO". "P" is the largest letter and the size of letters decreases with the "O" being the smallest. Built from 1958 until 1959. Original boats with this lettering are extremely tough to find. A "DUKW" is an amphibious two and a half ton 6x6 truck built by General Motors during WW2. It was used to transport troops from ship to shore and further inland. "DUKW" is the GM model code as follows: D - first year of production (1942) U - amphibian utility style K - front wheel drive W. Two rear driving axles.
