746 4-8-4 NORFOLK AND WESTERN LOCO WITH SHORT STRIPE TENDER

Made between 1957 and 1960. 4-8-4 model of Norfolk and Western Railway's Class J Northern, black painted diecast body with wide red painted running board stripe outlined in yellow, ornamental bell and ornamental whistle, Magnetraction, three position E-unit, lit with headlight lens, liquid smoke unit, 746W streamlined tender with short stripe which does not extend to ends of tender. Locos with long stripe tenders also were built. IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING REPAINTS: The yellow stripes on the locos were applied in the factory with a rubber-stamping step-and-repeat process which makes the stripe look like it has roughly 1/4" saw teeth on the entire length of the loco. The yellow is grainy. Scratched up locos have been repainted and have a very smooth, perfect yellow stripe applied with silkscreening. The paint is not grainy on the repaints.
