Lionel pw-773-50

773 4-6-4 NEW YORK CENTRAL HUDSON LOCO/TENDER

Produced in 1950. Black painted diecast body. 1/48 scale, hinged boiler front, ornamental movable bell, ornamental whistle, ornamental turbo generator, wire handrails, diecast pilot and trailing trucks, three position E-unit, engaged or disengaged from brushplate assembly, lighted with headlight lens, and smoke. The 773 was the grandchild of the more detailed Pre-War 700E and 763, and was designed to run on O gauge track. Note that the rubber-stamped cab number is smaller on the 1950 version. Has the highly detailed 2426W diecast semi-scale tender with whistle. Tender features include metal handrails, metal steps at all corners, and heat-stamped letters. The 773 and the 2426W tender were lauded as a classic and are prized as the the most desirable Post-War steamer Lionel produced.
