PENNSYLVANIA DOUBLE DOOR BOXCAR
|This PRR double door boxcar was built from 1946 through 1948. The body was a carry-over from before World War II. The built date on the side of the car is "3-41." However, it was adapted to Postwar production, and given die cast, staple end trucks with coil couplers on both ends. The body and doors are all metal, and there is a separately-applied "air brake system" attached to the bottom of the frame. It also has a metal brake wheel. Two of the ladders to the roof are separately applied, while two are part of the body mold.
