DRUGGISTS'SERVICE COUNCIL 'HALLOWEEN' GENERAL SET (SPECIAL PROOMOTIONAL SET)

 

  • The loco in the 'Halloween' General Set has a unique number (1882) and unique color (black boiler, orange cab) compared to the regular Generals with Red cab and grey boiler
  • The passenger coach is also a unique number (1885) and color (blue with brown roof)
  • The 1866 baggage was the came as uzed with regular General Sets. The 1877 horse car has unique yellow fences
  • It is commonly thought this set was made for Sears, but that is wrong; 6700 were produced for the Druggists's Service Council and distrubuted to er durg stores as a free prize in a promotional drawing at Christmas; hence none were sold to the public
  • The set also inlcuded a Plasticville Frontier set which is a log cabin in a uniquie box labeled "lionel frontier set' but otherwise identical to the regular Plasticville 903-1 Frontier Set
  • loco had a 2 position E unit, no smoke or magnetraction; passenger cars were not iluminated,
