This is the first year Fundimensions(division of MPC) issued two seperate catalogs for Traditional and Collector series. This catalog would include Lionel's high-end line of sets, engines, rolling stock, accessories, and American Flyer. 1982 had some real gems inside. New items included; Southern Pacific F-3 AA and aluminum passenger cars(would become one of the scarcest MPC F-3's produced, and the are SP B-unit would be a special in 82), Joshua Lionel Cowen 4-6-4 Hudson and Caboose, N&W SD-24 Continental Limited set, Burger King GP-20 and Wendy's N5-C caboose, a slew of new billboard reefers(Pepsi, Cheerios, Mounds, Taco Bell, etc), Santa Fe SD-40, Canadian Pacific snow plow, RI&P general and cars, Philadelphia mint car, Turn Of The Century weathered reefers, Traveling Aquarium car, S.P.
