| This was truly a great idea when it was introduced in early 1996. To celebrate Lionel's up coming Cenntennial anniversary in 2000. Lionel would remake one classic postwar engine a year ending in 2000. All would be exact replica's of the postwar version's. With added features; TMCC, RailSounds, 18K gold-plated accents(bells and horn detail), Lionel Century Club Certificate of Autheticity for each engine, Lionel engineering drawings for each engine, and detailed display case with wooden base and builders plate. There were two different membership fees($100 member and $500 Gold member). The engines included; 726 Lionel Lines Berkshire Steam Locomotive for 1996, 671 Lionel Lines Turbine Steam Locomotive for 1997, 2332 Pennsylvania GG-1 Electric Locomotive for 1998, 2333 New York Central F-3 AA Diesel Locomotives for 1999, and the 773 New York Central Hudson Steam Locomotive for 2000. 16 pages, with fantasic computer generated illustrations. Includes an illustrated timetable in the back covering Lionel's complete history. This was a one year only catalog that saw a small run. Lionel would do color flyers the following years for each engine. Another tough catalog, and must for the Lionel paper collector. These will be very desirable engines in the long run. |
