  • Item has been run. Simply one of the sleekest engineering designs of the 20TH century. Created by railroad designer, Raymond Loewy for the PRR in 1934, these workhorses ran under their own cantenary for over 50 years (NJ Transit retired them in the mid 80's). The #8753 was cataloged in 1977 by Lionel. This was first GG1 to be produced since 1963. Lionel made this GG-1 in wine red tuscan, with 5 gold stripes. FEATURES: dual Pullmor motors with magne-traction, operating couplers, headlights at both ends w/lighted markers, pantographs w/insulators (can be wired for overhead power), 3-position E-unit, authentic PRR paint scheme/logo and markings. This locomotive sold out quickly in 77, and for awhile was one of the hardest MPC engines to find. Certianly one of the toughest engines produced in the MPC era. Also GG-1's are one of the smoothest runners made by Lionel(great weight to pulling power).
