ILLINOIS CENTRAL BOXCAR 1st MPC BOXCAR (1970)
The first MPC boxcar to roll off the line in 1970. Numerous variations excist, mostly relating to the shade of the orange painted body. This car was also cataloged to match the Illinois Central GP-9 also from 1970(6-8030). Features; plastic orange body with black lettering(usually painted orange), plastic Symington Wayne trucks with operating couplers, metal or plastic door guides, and classic 1960-70's IC paint scheme and graphics. Lionel would make a succession of IC rolling stock in the 70's with this colorful paint scheme. One of the better looking early MPC boxcars, and tough to find mint.
