This car was one in a series of old time coaches made by Gilbert commencing in 1959. Often referred to as "Frontiersman" coaches, they had yellow bodies with black lettering and numbers, and rode on two axle trucks with knuckle couplers. None of the cars were illuminated. There were three variations: the early cars came with painted yellow sides, the second variation had yellow painted sides and were lettered "American Flyer Lines", the third variation had yellow plastic sides and were lettered "American Flyer Lines". All variations had black plastic roofs. The letters F.Y.&P.R.R. stood for "Fifty Years of Progress in Railroading". |
