|Introduced in 1946 and appearing again in 1947, the 310 was Gilbert's first S gauge Pacific-type loco. Unlike its sister loco the 312, it had no smoke or choo-choo feature. It was equipped with a four position reverse unit located in the boiler, and a four piece diecast boiler. On the side of the tender in silver is the word "PENNSYLVANIA", under the cab the numerals "310" appear. The tender was equipped with tinplate trucks and a thin shanked link coupler. When the 310 reappeared in 1947, the tender was marked "AMERICAN FLYER LINES", with the PRR keystone. The 1946 version of the 310 is considered the more collectable of the two.
