From 1949 until 1951, Gilbert produced the 312 loco with the suffix AC, probably to avoid confusion with the DC locos being produced in 1949 and 1950. It came equipped with headlight, smoke and choo-choo, all housed in the boiler. The tender carried the four position reverse unit. There were only two variations; one with an axle and two wheel trailing truck, the other had the more attractive Delta trailing truck. The tenders carried the PRR Keystone logo and were marked "AMERICAN FLYER" in white paint. |
